Instrument Platform Descriptions

Coral Reef Early Warning System (CREWS) Buoys -Moored buoys which provide high resolution SST, barometric pressure, wind speed and wind direction. Enhanced versions additionally provide salinity, UV-B, and PAR.  Subsets of these data are transmitted daily via satellite telemetry.
Sea Surface Temperature (SST) Buoys - Moored buoys which provide high resolution SST.  Subsets of these data are transmitted daily via satellite telemetry.
SVP-GPS Drifting Buoys - Drogued satellite drifters that telemeter their position and sea surface temperature.
APEX (Autonomous Profiling Explorer) TP Floats - Profiling satellite drifters that mimic diurnal migrations of zooplankton. Theytransmit profiles of water column temperature daily via satellite telemetry.
Subsurface Ocean Data Platform - Subsurface moorings, providing high resolution, current profiles, directional wave spectra and temperature and salinity.
Aanderaa Current Meters - Subsurface moorings providing high resolution current velocity and direction at locations of interest.
Subsurface Temperature Recorders (STRs) - Subsurface moorings providing high resolution temperature measurements
Wave and Tide Recorders (WTRs) - Subsurface moorings providing high resolution wave (non-directional), tidal elevation, and temperature measurements.
